Access to StrokeSurvivor.com for People with Disabilities
We have designed our website to welcome and be accessible for people with different disabilities.
For people with aphasia, we have a simple, clear layout. We don't use distracting dancing graphics.
For people with low vision, our text is adjustable so you can make it as large as you need in your browser. On your ‘view’ menu, just click on ‘text size’ or ‘text zoom’ to make the words on your screen larger.
For people who need to use a text reader, we use readable text, instead of graphics. Our favorite text reader is Readplease. A free version is available at www.readplease.com. This allows you to hear the text read aloud while you see it. It is a great tool for people with aphasia.
For people who have difficulty reading, or no time to read, one of our books, You Can Do It! 105 Thoughts, Feelings & Solutions to Inspire You is available on audiotape or audio CD.
We also offer a 3-in-one bookmark-magnifier-ruler that magnifies a few lines of text at a time or a section of a map, and discreetly in your book, pocket or purse.
Please contact us if you have additional suggestions for making our website more welcoming and accessible at info@strokesurvivor.com.
